Meet Erin Fitch:

Your Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Farmington, CT

Hi, I’m Erin.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, board certified in Psychiatry. Book lover. Deep feeler with a rebellious streak.

I became a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner after spending more than twenty years in the mental health field, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Over the years, I saw how deeply people were struggling—and how few providers were available to truly meet them with compassion, expertise, and respect. I wanted to change that. I chose this path to offer high-quality, meaningful care to my community—because everyone deserves access to support that actually helps.

What it’s like to work with me

I lead with respect, empathy, and curiosity. My patients can expect to be treated as whole people—not a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. I believe we’re all on a spectrum of mental health, and that some days feel healthier than others. But no matter where you are on that spectrum, you can always work toward feeling more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe medication can be an important and sometimes necessary tool—but that therapy, support, and practical strategies are equally powerful. When you combine the right medication with thoughtful, evidence-based therapeutic work, you create the conditions for real, lasting change.

You can expect honesty, depth, and collaboration. We’ll look at what’s not working, explore what’s underneath it, and build a path forward that feels sustainable—and true to you.

Who I work with

My focus is on children, adolescents, and their families, as well as young adults navigating major life transitions, identity, anxiety, or burnout. Whether you’re a parent worried about their child, a teen feeling overwhelmed, or a young adult trying to find their way—I provide compassionate, developmentally informed care that meets people where they are.

Credentials & Curiosity

I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Post-Masters degree in PMHNP as well as a Master of Science in Nursing Education. My therapeutic work is rooted in Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), but I’m always learning. I geek out on psychiatry podcasts and newsletters, new treatment approaches, the fascinating world of neurotransmitters, and the messy intersection of mind, body, and medication.

Outside the treatment room...

I’m usually reading something I can’t put down, wandering through used bookstores, exploring a hiking trail, or rewatching my favorite comfort shows. I love people with big hearts and sharp minds, and I believe healing can (and should) feel human—not clinical or cold.

Bottom line?

You’re not broken. You’re not failing. You’re just human—and healing is possible.

I help children, teens, families, and young adults move from stress, anxiety, and burnout to clarity, connection, and peace. If that sounds like what you need, I’d love to meet.
